Modified Mustang’s are pretty much par for the course at SEMA, but this year’s retro-inspired one-off build, with chassis and engine tweaks by Roush, is especially enticing.
Inspired by Carroll Shelby’s 1966 Daytona-winning Ford GT40 Mk II, the livery was remastered by Khyzyl Saleem, a prominent digital automotive customiser, with the application of the Roush Performance front lip and quarter window covers. An Anderson Composites carbon fibre boot, bonnet and Type AT spoiler are among the weight-saving cosmetic touches.
Under the bonnet sits Ford’s 5,0-litre V8 with a Roush supercharger giving it a power output of 515 kW. A set of ST Suspension XTA Coilovers and 20-inch Fifteen52 Podium Super Touring wheels with custom turbo fans attached to a set of Yokohama Advan tyres heklp lend this Mustang a touch more agility than its stock-standard peers. Willwood performance brakes provide additional stopping power while a MagnaFlow Competition Series Cat-Back Performance exhaust system gives the Mustang a louder growl.
The interior gets a set of NRG Race bucket seats with six-point harnesses and a NASCAR-style steering wheel.
