The Novitec Group is no stranger to extracting the most from Ferrari engines. As a reminder, earlier in 2019, the firm unveiled not one, but two performance-enhanced models from the Italian automaker, revealing tuned versions of both the Portofino and 812 Superfast. Now the firm has turned its attention to the mid-engined 488 Pista, handing it an aerodynamic kit and (of course) more power.
The German tuner has made some changes under the 488 Pista’s transparent engine cover, fitting two N-Tronic modules to the 3,9-litre V8 mill’s management system. According to the company, the standard twin-turbo engine now produces 590 kW (up by 60 kW), while the torque output has been increased by 128 N.m to a hair below 900 N.m (898 N.m, to be exact).
Also included in the kit are mechanical upgrades in the form of an upgraded stainless steel (and “power optimised”) exhaust system with bespoke tailpipes. A carbon-fibre aerodynamics package, which Novitec says has been “wind-tunnel tested”, has been added, too.
According to Novitec, these upgrades have shed some 0,15 seconds off the Prancing Horse’s claimed 0-100 km/h sprint time of 2,85 seconds, dropping the figure to 2,7 seconds. Top speed is 345 km/h, which is 5 km/h faster than before.
To “maximise driving performance”, this 488 Pista features “tailor made” wheel and tyre combinations. The car you see here rides on 21-inch alloys fore and 22-inch items at the rear. The wheels have been co-developed with American company Vossen and are wrapped in 255/30 and 335/25 size rubber, respectively.
